Study overview:
- Identified diabetic patients aged 18-85 with at least one outpatient visit between 2021 and 2024 using PurpleLab® CLEART™ Claims.
- Calculated proportions of patients receiving a full KHE overall and stratified results by patient characteristics, including age group, gender, race, ethnicity, region, marital status, and education.
Key findings:
- Overall KHE attainment remained stable from 2021 to 2024, ranging from 57.5% to 58.4%.
- Lowest KHE attainment was among the 18-25 age group (51%-53%), while the 45-64 age group had the highest (55%-61%).
- Asian patients showed the highest attainment (66%-68%), and Black/AA patients had the lowest (54%-56%).
- Patients residing in the South had lower attainment (50%-52%) compared to those in the West (64%-66%).
The analysis highlights that while KHE attainment is relatively high for a new measure, significant disparities exist across various patient groups, suggesting opportunities for health equity improvement.
